Sudarshan Vidya Mandir is an educational wing of the Gnyana Mandir Trust (Regd.) The Trust is the spiritual creation of Sri K.V.Aswathnarayan who visualized the ideal of real education and gave it a concrete shape in the formation of this purposeful Trust. The School Sudarshan Vidya Mandir was established in 1967 in commemoration of “Sudarshan” the late son of Smt. & Sri Aswathnarayan. The founder sought to breathe into this school the essence of Truth, Efficiency and Sacrifice that they as student learnt under the spiritual guidance of Mahatma Gandhi.
Sudarshan Vidya Mandir is chiefly devoted to the spread of knowledge and the inculcation of moral, intellectual and cultural values in young minds. It looks upon children as “Little Gods” and takes them into its fold irrespective of their caste, colour and creed. In these endeavours Smt. & Sri Aswathnarayan have proved to be successful as our school has grown both qualitatively and dimensionally.
We are proud to say that SVM has cast its distinctive seal on academic and extra-curricular activities thro' quality education.. Our SSLC and VII standard District Level Public Examinations have displayed a fairly regular trend of scaling greater heights through the passage of each successive year. The school had made its imprint in the area of state ranks, more that once securing ranks within the first twenty ands hundred. The Trust has also recently with the establishment of the Sudarshan Vidya Mandir ICSE Academy, opened its doors to the students wanting to study under ICSE syllabus. The teachers have been specially trained for imparting the academic & Co-curricular demands of this particular syllabus. In the sphere of extra-curricular activities, the new academic year will see the successful continuation and exciting beginning of several programmes of this nature Yoga classes, NCC, Bharath Scouts and Guides, Community Periods, Video viewing facilities etc.
Any triumphs achieved in the academic and cultural fields have to share equal credits with out staff and parent body. The efficiency of the former and co-operation of the latter have been our pillars of strength at all times.
Several personalities such as Late Dr. V.K.R.V.Rao, Dharmadhikari Sri D.veerendra Heggade, His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Visveswatheertha Swamiji and several leading politicians have at various times visited us and wished our school well. It is through their blessings and the support and help of the parents that we shall continue to seek higher goals through higher convictions and engrave our name on the pillars of time.
As always we have been successful in our accomplishments, by dint of hard work and the dedication of our staff and students, co-operation of our parent body and by the everlasting grace of God to whom we dedicate this prayer.
